YIC
Overview
YIC aims to encourage creativity, ingenuity and private
initiative among young people. YIC is designed to help
young inventors, innovators and creators crystallize their
ideas and turn them into real products. Such projects
have been very successful in Sweden, where annually some
5,000 children participate in invention contests.
The situation today with the young inventors
Today many young people
have difficulty making their inventions into reality,
despite their creative ideas. Some are inspired but don't
know where to start. Some have creativity inside them
but don't realize it. Some are discouraged against going
forward with their ideas by doubting friends or by the
perception that the market it full. Some just don't know
what to do, and the road to success appears too long and
winding.
Some young inventors contact business organizations for
help, but they finally get discouraged and, in the end,
give up their ideas. Why? Because they don't see anything
happening after paying thousands of dollars for patent
lawyers and inventors' consultants. They may wait two
to three years without results, after being promised the
sky.
